Autoliv and Tensor have jointly unveiled the world’s first foldable steering wheel designed for autonomous driving, set to debut in Tensor’s self-driving vehicles.
When the car switches to Level 4 autonomous mode, the steering wheel rim folds downward along with the steering column and retracts neatly into the center console. At the same time, the central display slides aside, turning the front cabin into an entertainment space while the vehicle drives itself.
Less driving. More Netflix. But… do we actually need this? 🤔
