Jin Daily Tech Trivia – Anker, from charger to AI chips

Anker officially announced its first custom silicon, the Thus™ AI chip, on April 22, 2026. Instead of the traditional architecture where models sit in memory and computation happens elsewhere, Thus uses Compute-in-Memory (CIM), running AI directly inside NOR Flash. This eliminates constant data movement, reducing energy consumption by up to 90% while improving latency and efficiency.

The chip supports neural networks with around 4 million parameters and will first appear in Soundcore’s upcoming flagship true wireless earbuds. Thanks to CIM, it enables significantly larger models than typical earbud AI (which usually handles only hundreds of thousands of parameters), allowing much stronger on-device processing under the same power and size constraints.
